Elisabeth Stuart, die älteste Tochter von King James VI und Queen Anne von Dänemark, ist die Person, der Fusion Whisky und Adelphi ihre neueste Zusammenarbeit gewidmet haben. Man verfolgt ja mit Fusion Whisky das Konzept, historische Personen aus Schottland zu würdigen, die fern der Heimat Berühmtheit erlangten, und hat das bereits mit Blends aus schottischem sowie japanischem oder indischem Whisky getan. Diesmal hat man sich für Holland entschieden. Die 1596 in Fife geborene Elisabeth Stuart ist das Bindeglied zwischen den Stuarts und dem Haus Hannover und lebte in Den Haag. Man hat nun ihr zu Ehren einen Blend aus Single Malts von Schottland und aus Holland geschaffen und ihn The Winter Queen genannt.
The Winter Queen besteht aus Single Malts der Destillerien Longmorn und Glenrothes und der holländischen Destillerie Zuidam. Komponiert wurde der neunjährige Whisky von Adelphi’s Master Blender Alex Bruce. 866 Flaschen wurden mit 52.7% Alkohol abgefüllt !

Nose drying; polished floor boards; chocolate and desiccated coconut; Scotch pancakes topped with bacon and coated in maple syrup; manilla envelopes; crème caramel; maraschino cherry; rhubarb crumble, dark toffee and molasses; soft and creamy mouthfeel; Sunday lunch, with quince jelly and jus.
